TYPING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Paragraph indention – 8 spaces from the left margin
2. Margins – APA Guidelines: 1 inch on all sides (or with slide on the left side: L: 1 ½ inches)
3. Page numbers a. Every page has an assigned number, and a numeral should appear on every page except the title page. b. Two separate series of page numbers:
1) Small Roman Numerals – begin with the title page (but does not appear on it) and end with the last page preceding Chapter 1.
2) Arabic Numerals – begin with the first page of Chapter 1 and continue throughout until the last page of the term paper.
The page numeral of the first page of Chapter 1 and the first page of the Bibliography is placed at the bottom in the center; numerals on other pages are placed on the upper-right hand corner.
4. Preliminary pages a. Title page (see sample) b. Acknowledgment
Page title – full capitals on the fifth double space below the top of the paper and is centered on the page. No punctuation is used after it. Its first line starts 3 spaces below the title. c. Table of Contents
Page title – full capitals on the fifth double space from the top of the page centered 5. Chapter numbers and titles only the first letter of the word “Chapter” is capitalized typed with the chapter number on the fifth double space from the top of the paper centered Chapter title is typed in full capitals, 3 single spaces below the chapter number and is centered.
The first line of the chapter text begins 3 single spaces below the chapter title.

Full capitals; centered
