Bartleby the Scrivener is a short story written by Herman Melville, 1853 (The Life and Works of Herman
Melville 2000). It is about miserable life of scrivener who is suffered by fear of ghost. When people
practices same thing again and time again they assumes supernatural things in real life and that kills.
A successful and a very calm Lawyer is the narrator of "Bartleby the Scrivener" who deals with wealthy
people in get rid from bond and loan related problems. He has operated his business with two
scriveners who are doing a shift work as they are unable to handle at same time because one has indigestion
problem and another is a drunkard.
