A remarkable amount of sports does not involve physical interaction, yet the players get called athletes. The countless hours of practice, dedication, competitions, exercise, and the substantial health they keep themselves in is the reasons they are athletes. For years, cheerleaders have been trying to justify themselves worthy of being called an athlete. Cheerleaders must constantly show how hard they work just to get the slightest bit recognition for what they do. Cheerleaders are athletes insomuch as having all those key components that an athlete possesses.
