Sir William Ramsay, a Scottish chemist, and Morris M. Travers, an English chemist, discovered neon. Another important person is Georges Claude, a French chemist, who invented neon lighting around (1870-1960). Claude showed his first neon sign at the Paris Exposition of 1910. And then sold the first neon advertising sign to a Paris barber two years later. Around the 1920s, neon lighting had become popular in many parts of the world. First off choose a proper eye shadow color. This can be a little tricky especially if you are not familiar with the tones and hues that would flatter your face. Earth tones work for any skin type and if your skin tone is on the warmer side, beiges, gelds and browns are your best bets. Pretty much the same rule applies to people with cooler skin tones. The cool colors would include the grays and the blues. But remember, if you have dark circles beneath your eyes do not use dark eye shadows as doing so would only bring attention to the dark circles giving you a raccoon-like look. These are just simple eye make up tips for choosing a color that's perfect for you.…

The summer before my freshman year in high school I was full of a newfound confidence that can only be found in a fourteen-year-old just promoted from middle school. I was going to be high schooler, an “older” kid, a top dog. I spent most of that summer at my best friend’s house. So much that I bet the neighbors probably thought I lived there. Every day I walked the half mile to get there and we’d decide what adventure to have that day. On one especially hot day we decided to have a water balloon fight as a way to cool off like any normal teenager who doesn’t have a pool available. Yet, what started as a water fight quickly evolved into throwing water balloons at passing cars. We filled up our plastic cooler, lugged it out to…
“The Problem of the Color Line” also named the “the problem of the twentieth century” by W.E.B Du Bois was defined as the impact of race and racism in the development of society. W.E.B Du Bois’ focus on the impact of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade as the basis of the construction of a capitalist and consumerist economy creates the argument that people of color, especially those of African descent or labeled as black, were socially disadvantaged as they became a commodity and denied basic human rights. By defining and naming a “color line” Du Bois opens the floor to the discussion of race and the supremacy of whiteness as well as the continuing exploitation of those who fall in hereditary poverty. Du Bois begins to locate the extend of this…
