Most pet turtles, red eared sliders included, are mainly herbivorous in the wild and can survive on vegetables such as carrots, lettuce or cabbage or fruits such as berries. Some owners also introduce earthworms or live insects such as crickets, beetles or spiders. You can also buy commercial turtle food to ensure that your turtle is getting all of the nutrients it needs. Diet and frequency of feeding is also, in part, a function of your turtle's age. One thing you will notice is that the red eared slider's diet tends to change as they mature. Younger turtles are usually omnivores, eating a wide range of vegetation and insects. As they mature, they tend to be more herbivorous, sticking to fruits and vegetables.…
Diprotodon, meaning "two forward teeth", sometimes known as the Giant Wombat or the Rhinoceros Wombat, was the largest known marsupial that ever lived and the last of the extinct, herbivorous Diprotodontids. Diprotodon was the first fossil mammal named from Australia and one of the most well-known of the mega fauna. It was widespread across Australia when the first indigenous people arrived, co-existing with them for thousands of years before becoming extinct about 25,000 years ago.…
The popular name for Daphnia is ‘water fleas’ because they resemble fleas in shape and movement. Unlike fleas, which are insects, Daphnia are crustaceans classified under the scientific order, Cladocera. The purpose of this experiment was to examine the alertness of Daphnia ambigua alertness at different temperatures. It involved the incubation of 30 Daphnia ambigua in three 100ml beakers. Exposing each beaker to a different temperature revealed that temperature of the surrounding environment had a significant impact on the alertness of the Daphnia. The control group for this study was the Daphnia placed at room temperature i.e. 22° Celsius. The experimental groups were the ones placed at 5° and 28° Celsius. The constant variables were food…
This will depend on the number of microscopes you have and access to a healthy culture of Daphnia. Students can readily follow this procedure working in pairs. Because of the variability of results between individual Daphnia it is not appropriate to make conclusions from one set of results, so each pair (or group) of students should carry out more than one investigation to contribute to the class set.…

In this experiment gopher tortoises were observed at the FAU preserve and data of the turtles, the mating, and their predators were put into a chart. I used the chart to come up with a hypothesis, prediction, and the independent variable and dependent variable. There were 2 types of areas that the tortoises were observed in 24 hours of the day with 10 different cameras set up. There was the dense vegetation which has an abundance of shrubbery and there was the grassland which consists mostly of short grass. Gopher tortoises usually mate up north during the months of May through June, but because I live in South Florida and the tortoises I observed were in South Florida their mating patterns are year round thus, the chart shows mating of tortoises…
My astronaut is Gus Grissom. What interests me about Gus Grissom is that he had such a normal life. He grew up in a small town with three siblings, and was an average student in school. His school principal thought of him as "an average solid citizen who studied just about enough to get a diploma." He didn't study that much and didn’t have any education or school goals. Even though he wasn't the best student, he joined the military, got a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, and then joined the air force again. He was a great pilot for the air force but ended up as an astronaut for NASA. He got from being an average student to an astronaut by joining the military and getting a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. After he got…
Sappho was born on the island of Lesbos sometime between 630 - 600 BCE. Not much is known about her life, but some of her poetry and great notoriety has survived. Sappho was a lyric poet, which means her poems were sung, usually accompanied by a lyre, which was a type of musical instrument. She was included in the list of the Nine Lyric poets, which were seen as highly esteemed poets to the scholars Hellenistic Alexandria. It is widely thought that Sappho was born to an Aristocratic family, her father is said to have been Scamandronymus, and her mother Cleis, which Sappho is said to have named her daughter after.…
Whether this story is true or not, but it shows that this instrument was played by blind musicians historically. Until recent times, its soft volume limited the musical contexts in which it could be used. The Đàn bầu is played in solo music, which is a central to the Vietnamese folk music. Moreover, during traditional occasion, the Đàn bầu is used as an accompaniment to poetry readingsIn the North Africa, the Darabukka tends to be between 40 to 50cm long, and the diameter of the head of this instrument is normally between 20 and 25cm. People in Turkish play Darbuka in traditional ensembles to accompany dancing. In India, this kind of instrument is known as Tabla in an Indian Rag; players can produce pitches compatible with the dastgab. We also can find the Darabukka in Albania and Bulgaria. In Albania, we called this instrument as the Barabuke, and it is normally made from pottery…
A chihuahua is feisty, confident, and quick-to-bark. He is a small dog that requires a small amount of food; he would be well suited for living in an apartment. Although he sheds but not excessively, he is easily groomed. He loves physical contact, attention, and sitting with his owner. Chihuahuas are not fond of strangers, thus, they bark at them which makes them seem aggressive. Because chihuahuas are also very aggressive with other dogs regardless of their size, they will attack a dog ten times their size. They’re not good with children unless they have been raised around them. Sometimes younger children might accidentally injure them. They are somewhat hard to train, so you have to be patient with them. In my opinion, a chihuahua would…

Pokémon Go is inspired by the Gameboy game, cartoon program and low-tech trading card game Pokémon, which was the subject of a craze in the late 1990s. Its users create an avatar to catch and train the monsters in real world locations which can then take part in battles. The game uses the smartphone's camera and GPS to provide you with the experience of existing in a world of Pokemon. Now available in most regions throughout the world, the game has been downloaded over 75 million times — and this is before even reaching both China and South Korea. The newest iteration of the classic Nintendo game takes the Pokémon experience to the next level by allowing users to interact with a virtual game world while walking around in their own cities and towns. Much like in the earlier console, PC, and Game Boy games, the player moves to collect Pokémon, levelling them up and having them battle at gyms. New to this game, however, is the ability to seamlessly go between the “augmented reality “of the digital Pokémon realm and the GPS coordinates of real locations. As players travel they encounter different Pokémon creatures and “Pokéstops” at which they can acquire items for their Pokémon, such as poke balls and potions.…
