A surfing spot in Encinitas was actually the inspiration behind the Beach Boys' "Surfin' USA," so you can get an idea of what you can expect when you visit this place, which has been dubbed as one of the best surf towns in the world. Besides its beautiful beaches, this place is also known for its flora and fauna. Birds annually pass by the San Elijo Lagoon during their annual winter migration. Encinitas is also home to a variety of gardens and plant nurseries, the biggest of which is the San Diego Botanic Garden. Its laidback nature and picturesque locations make this a favorite among local and international sighteers.
