It was not considered good for a Jew to be buried after his death in a mixed- denomination cemetery, the term matzevah ,can also be called tombstone,means“pillar, stone” .It is used to store old memories about some one.It is used to remind us of an individual gone from this world. The use of tombstones tells that a grave site was marked according to the ancient text .
