At the Heart of the Grand Strand: Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach can be considered as the center of a long strip of scenic, uninterrupted coast called Grand Strand due to the number of people visiting the region annually. It should be no wonder why Myrtle Beach in South Carolina is a grand temptation, with so many activities for people of all ages to choose from.

Myrtle Beach is a part of the famed Grand Strand, which is a stretch of around 60 miles of uninterrupted beaches facing the Atlantic Ocean. Myrtle Beach is right off the Grand Strand’s center with famous promenades and landmarks pointing to its location. Below Myrtle Beach is the relatively less famous Huntington Beach and to the north are other beaches that comprise the Grand Strand.

    The first few steps after the boardwalk may feel rather rocky due to scattered sediments and tiny pebbles sticking on to the soles of your feet, but by halfway to the ocean, it starts getting smooth and cooler with every step you take. If laying around and catching some ray is not your type of fun, there are beach volleyball courts set up, kites to be flown here and safe swimming with lifeguards on the look out.
