Thorn, Prussian Poland, February 19, 1473 C.E. was the day a great astronomer who’s work and theory never got the spotlight it deserved, was born. His name was Nicholaus Copernicus, a member of a wealthy family (Clerke 3)with the potential to do great things for the world in his time. He wasn’t the most respected man and he lived the majority of his life in fear of the catholic church which held great power and had a natural hate towards scientists at that current day in age. He was a well educated man in many fields, fields such as mathematical science, canon law, medicine, and astronomy.
