It is not known where Pythagoras attended school during his early childhood. Pythagoras left Samos to go to Egypt in 535 BC to study priest in the temples. Very little is known about his early life. He was very educated and was interested in mathematics, philosophy, astronomy, and music. Many say that he was married to a woman named Theano and had a son named Telauges and a daughter named Damo. However many have said that Theano was one of Pythagoras students and that they never married or had children. Many historic events occurred during his lifetime such as the invasion of Egypt by the Persians. During this time Pythagoras was held prisoner and taken to Babylon.
