Since the first ship of enslaved Africans landed upon Americas shores in 1562, America has struggled to correct its problems with racism. The Civil Rights Movement or the African-American Civil Rights Movement of the 1960’s was all about ending racial segregation and racial injustice that had begun approximately 400 years earlier. This movement was comprised of millions of African Americans and others who would “peacefully” and “non-violently” march or stand together against racial discrimination and outright bigotry. Slavery was the legal and common practice of capturing and enslaving Africans. This practice in today’s terms would be called human trafficking. These Africans were not only capture like animals and placed in chains. This practice would take place not only here in the United States of America, but also in Britain. Slavery here in America would continue to enslave and oppress this race of people throughout the 18th and 19th centuries. There were thousands of slaves here in America, before the Declaration of Independence was written, and thousands after.
