Head to toe Ralph Lauren is a hard look to pull off, but fortunately for him, it pairs well with aviators, loafers and an ‘I put more effort than required into my hair’ cut. You will probably spot him milling around the library taking loud business calls and dropping corporate jargon like it going out of style, “I’ll pencil you in for lunch?”…
While furthering my research on Polo Ralph Lauren’s business decisions regarding sweatshops and their workers, I found an article written by Robert J.S. Ross, a professor in Sociology at Clark University. The article entitled, “Hey, Ralph Lauren, sweatshops aren’t chic,” was featured in the Los Angeles Times and employs an appeal to pathos by disclosing the reprehensible working conditions that sweatshop workers endure everyday in factories throughout China to provide products for Polo Ralph Lauren. While discussing these working conditions he states, “unofficially, they are often paid less than the official minimum, which varies by province and city. Days off are rare, despite laws that entitle them to one day off a week” (Ross). Ross essentially…
At this point, I wonder what this company has to offer me. I have always known about Macy’s, but not in depth. My original research of the company’s history, background, and culture took me off guard from what I was expecting. It caught my attention when I read more about their corporate social responsibilities. Why would this matter to me? Personally, as a single individual, I want to make an impact on the world, to make it a better place. I have the mentally that I would to make a difference, so at the level where I am at, all I can do is volunteer locally. I would love to be part of the Macy’s team. I understand that their business is taking a dive due to competitors, and it took a big hit during the depression from 2008 to 2011, they only…

Burberry is the first dog I ever had when I got it it was the most best day in my life. I was driving to foothill for my brothers football game, it was so cold that my fingers were going to fall off. When we got there my brother started warming up and there was this enormous park right next to it where I always would go when my brother would be doing football. My sister and I hung out at the park, after a little while though we stopped and we sat down on the chairs my dad had set down on the grass. When we did I thought I saw my aunt and I did I ran up to her but as I did I forgot my shoes were untied and tripped over on the grass. As I began to get up I saw Dirt all on me it got me so angry when my sister started laughing at me that I went over there pulled some grass out of the dirt and threw it straight at her head as if I was throwing a football.…
Lights, camera, paint brush, action! The thrill of creating a story through the lens of a camera and the fine hairs of a paintbrush was the life of Norman Rockwell. Capturing the small-town life of an everyday American scene was Rockwell’s way of creating the world that wasn’t perfect into his own view of a place that was. With the Rockwell creativity of drawing his perspective of an American perfection; Edward Hopper created otherwise. Creating more realistic and expressed his feelings into the paintings, going by one of his favorite art teachers, Robert Henri sayings, “Paint what you feel. Paint what you see. Paint what is real to you.”…
The Oxford Dictionary describes style as a characteristic of a particular period, place, person or movement. Al Capone was known for his amazing style sense which epitomised the Italian American sub-culture as well as the Prohibition gangster era of the 1920s and the 1930S. Even in the midst of this secular world, there are people in it, or who have been recently in it, who greatly imitate Mary. A modern day Mary is a person of today, or has at least lived close to this era of time, who shows a significant amount of virtue, humility, modesty, and most importantly, has a correct and delicate conscience. However, a modern day Eve, is the exact opposite. This person may tend to lack modesty, virtue, and have a lax and desensitized conscience. A modern day Mary habitually judges correctly, whereas, a modern day Eve may be inclined to be lax and not care if whatever they are doing is right or wrong.…
The Pulaski community should construct an art school for the facility they plan to build. One reason why is because the arts are very important life skills to have. Art activates more of the brain, to help kids think better. It also calms people and helps them focus. Art is also a great hobby to have because it can create friendships. This facility would let artistic people show their talents while helping them meet other people with similar interests. Another reason is because it would be a great way for young adults to spend their time. An art school would keep teens occupied, and because of this, kids would get into less trouble. Art would be their new hobby. This will also minimize the complaining of “I’m bored!”. An art school would…
