Thank you very much for referring Barry along for investigation of possible obstructive sleep apnoea. I agree that he has a high likelihood of the condition given his history of snoring, witness apnoeas and his waking unrefreshed even when he sleeps well. He has symptoms of lethargy and fatigue, but also some sleepiness in passive situations, but reassuringly not whilst driving. He is also concerned by the quality of his sleep. He will go to bed at about 10.30pm, read for half an hour and fall asleep quickly when he turns the lights off. He will however wake after about three hours and will occasionally will find it difficult to get back to sleep and will sometimes read for up to an hour.
