The panthera uncia, also known as the Snow Leopard, is and endangered species from central and south Asia. It is a carnivore which means they only eat meat. Their phylum is chordate, comes from the genus of the roaring cats.
The snow Leopard's environment is on cliffs, rocky outcrops ,and rines. Which provide good cover and clear view to help them find and sneak up on their prey.Snow leopards also are nomadic and change their home ranges frequently, but yet there are only 4,000 to 6,500 snow leopards left in the wild.
The body structure of a snow leopard has many unique features such as a robust chest muscles that aid in climbing Steep mountains. They also have wide , short nasal cavities that heat the cold outside air for the snow leopard to breath. It takes them about 2-4 days for them to finish consuming their prey so they stay close by so nothing else takes it during that time. The snow leopard's diet mainly consists of meat , because it is a carnivore, and they eat mostly wild goats and wild sheep species.
The behavioral adaptations of the snow leopard consist of shy, crepuscular activity pattern. The snow leopards are also known as “The Ghost Of The Mountain”,because they are very hard to spot.
So the Snow Leopard is a very unique and fascinating specimen and has very many personal features that help it to survive in the harsh conditions that it lives in. Also yes, I have seen a snow leopard at the zoo in Bismarck, ND I was there for a school field trip and trust me they are truly beautiful
