The story of Snow White is about a beautiful child who is forced to run away from home after being threatened to be killed by the Queen for being the fairest of them all. After running away from home the queen finds out Snow White is still alive by her magical mirror and she sets out to kill her. While running through the forest Snow White stumbles upon the house of seven male dwarfs who allow her to live in their house. This story of Snow White by the Grimm Brothers portrays many different instances in which snow white is being controlled by the male figures in her life. The queen is constantly asking her mirror who is the fairest if them all. When the queen asks her mirror this, it reply’s that she is fair but Snow White is more beautiful. This is seen on page 1, “You, my queen, are fair; it is true. But Snow‐White is a thousand times fairer than you.” The mirror reply’s this to the queen after she asks who is the fairest of them all. Due to the mirror saying that Snow White is more fair, the queen becomes very jealous and wants Snow White dead. One can agree that this is expressing the feminist theory because women focus on their beauty to much and they get jealous when other women have what they do not. Many women in today's society are labeled for how they are supposed to look and the portrayal of women in the media has a big impact on many women. I feel like the mirror telling the queen that she was beautiful but snow white was more beautiful is as if someone knows they are beautiful, but it is not enough because women in the media are seen as more beautiful and/or perfect. This is seen as the feminist theory because it is as if women have a certain standard to meet in today's society. In conclusion, the queen waned to be the most beautiful but since the mirror told her she was not she wanted Snow White killed because she was more
