The Lion King has the talent of creating character music incorporating deep emotions at times to cheerful emotions. The music was relevant to the times when it’s needed. One of the actors, Rob Collins who is an indigenous actor and portrays the character “Mufasa” on the stage. His acting performance was sly and like a fox style. His singing had a darker sense of vocals to it which, is one of Mufasa’s evil characteristic. The whole cast on the musical is a so big that they have 4 people portraying as “Young Simba” and 4 people portraying as “Young Nala”. Their overall performance was for them quite exhausting since they jump around and move around fairly often, but their performance was great.
The sound and lighting worked cohesively as if they were a team. The lighting was mainly capturing everyone’s eyes to the actors, the sound effects were incredibly loud and there was 2 people on left and right of the stage on the balcony playing the African drums and maraca. The set design was cleverly hidden with more than 2 scenes before another act appears. They used glass screens creatively too. It made the musical flow well like water flowing down a river. The sets were quite shocking. You can tell just on the first set, how much effort everyone spent on
