Homer was born in Greece in 800 BCE and his parents were Krithidia and Meonas. Homer is referred to one of the best poets there ever was.Some of his poems he wrote were named by critics one of the best poems ever written .All of his poems were written on papyrus paper .His two most popular were Odyssey and Iliad but there were many others also .The Odyssey is focused on Ulysses and the journey back home after the long and hard war of Troy. The characters in this poem are Ulysses ,Penelope ,Tiresias Zeus ,Siren, Poseidon ,Calypso, Athena and more.The Iliad is a poem written by him about the another war called Trojan war between Greeks and Trojans.This poem is still being read by people today. When reading his quotes I felt it related to people these days because alot of people believe in one thing and speak another because they’re worried of getting judged One of my favourote quotes by Homer is”I didn’t lie I Just told a fiction with my mouth” .I like this quote because it’s humerous to me and I like humerous quotes.There is a book by Homer called Homeric Hymns it is a sum of 33 anonymous Ancient Greek hymns.Homer wrote a Homeric Hymn of Apollo which was 580 lines , the longest he has wrote about anyone else.There are also movies out involving Homer’s work.One of the movies is called “Troy” which is based on Homer’s “lliad”.This movie potrays a battle between kindoms of Troy and Sparta. There is another movie called” O brother where art thou” adapted from The Odyssey.Homer’s odyssey was critiqued on many different websites some people said his poems were adventurous and very interesting.There were times where Homer’s work Would disappear then be rediscovered. His work is a great way to learn something about how the Trojan War happened and what happened after.His poems also can help you if you want to have a field in poetry.Courage and wisdom are characteristics to homer and his poems.
