There are about 6 billion people all over the world, and majority of them cannot live without social media. The popularity of the Internet makes social media has become an important part of our lives, such as TV news, Facebook and Wiki. In this research, we will focus on the positive impacts of social media on Individuals and society and how they influence in business. On the contrary, we will also study the shortage of social media and give our recommendations.

Business issues
Nowadays, almost all of news about business is spread by social media. According to the principle of management information systems, it is an important way for enterprises to get the situation of the marketing and make decisions. An increasing number of decision-makers make a research by social media, so that they can know more about their customers, business partner and competitors. In the same way, they can build powerful relationships with their customers and both of them can capture value from each other. However, the reliability of social media should be considered. There are some securities threats relate on users’ privacy.

Expected results
For individuals, we are going to offer some solutions to prevent users’ privacy and help people to identify the authenticity of information which come from social media. The negative impacts of social media should be known by people who are using it.
For society, it should have some measures to manage the information from social media, because some fake messages have cause big problems. In business field, unreliable information can change the way of a company. The function of social media should help the development of the society.
