Dear Mr. Butler:

As per your request in October 2011, I have completed my report for the relocation process into Juarez, MEX. You will find my findings and the feasibility of expanding our plant into Mexico and my recommendations for this plan.

Ciudad Juarez is under the umbrella of NAFTA, North American Free Trade Agreement which was implemented on January 1, 1994. The purpose for NAFTA was to remove tariff barriers between Mexico and the United States and Canada.

While doing the market analysis, I researched several issues to include, location, customs, border crossing passes, diversity in living accommodations and the cities economic standings. My findings will show that Ciudad Juarez, despite their drug wars, is still an attractive city to expand our electronic company into.

Ciudad Juarez was ranked as the top city in Mexico for Export related jobs in the Maquiladora Manufacturing Industry and Export Services employment. Expanding our company into this country will not only be an asset for our company but we will be making a name for our company in the import/export business world.

There were several useful cites and resources I used while researching for this proposal. The city of Juarez’s relocation services was very helpful and attentive as was the cities Chamber of Commerce and the Mexican/American consulates as well.

I want to take this opportunity to “Thank you” for giving me

The role that the maquiladoras play in the development of a country can be discussed through evaluation of a thriving international capitalism occurring in Mexico 's northern boundary. The word, maquiladora, is used to describe the foreign-owned assembly plants clustered along the border of Mexico and United States. The maquiladora program was first initiated in 1965, a year after the eligibility of Mexican agricultural workers to legally work in the United States through the Bracero program was terminated (Hanson 2003). After this, Mexican border towns such as Tijuana and Juarez became overcrowded with citizens in temporary settlement to find opportunities of returning to the United States. Subsequently, shortages of food, water, shelter and transportation caused the Mexican government to create the National Border Development Program (PRONAF) in 1965 (Gruben 2011). PRONAF was the first step to establishing the maquiladora sector of Northern Mexico. It was implied as a win-win situation that would improve Mexican economy from foreign investment as well as create jobs for those living in the overcrowded border towns. Regions like the maquiladora are referred to as Export Processing Zones (EPZ), which are big industrial estates set up with multinationals in mind (Salzinger 2003). In this case, government bureaucrats from foreign countries would go to major world…

Many people ask themselves over the world, how many lives have been destroyed in Juarez innocently. They can not imagine how the people of Juarez, including myself have seen death pass by our eyes or have suffered a loss of a family member killed; knowing many who had a simple robbery may kill a person in a horrible way. Juarez is a city that it is uncontrolled, and neither the politicians nor the president can not deal with the violence. If the city follows this violence might be to the people can revolt and take control of society. Many people think that this is generated when President Felipe Calderon took the presidency, and sent federal police to Juarez. The only thing that the federals are doing here is just stealing…

They have very little experience with exporting their goods and have until now only sold directly to other companies or doctors, who already knew their products or the high prestige of their company in Spain. The goal is to reach a turnover of 3.005.000€ over the next 5 years, which is approximately 67% higher than the current turnover of 1.800.000. Because of their lack of experience in the international market, they have decided to focus on only 3 potential markets in South America, Chile, Argentina and Brazil, which will make it easier for them to analyze the best business opportunity and find a distributor there. The countries may be far away, but they are all similar in some way to Spain, mostly regarding the language, as both Chile and Argentina speaks Spanish, which will make the communication easier and Brazil speaks Portuguese, which is similar to the Spanish language. Argentina and Brazil are also a part of Mercosur, which for the company is an attractive platform to go in to.…

The recent global financial crisis has resulted in a change in many of the traditional measures used to gauge the performance of the executive management of the company. The focus of academia has shifted from revenue and cost based studies to the importance of ensuring the survival of firms during a financial crisis. The study regarding the determinants of working capital management and the impact of working capital management on firm profitability have gained significance over the past few years. A substantial amount of research has identified determinants of working capital management that can be used for further studies on the subject; these include industry averages, the proportion of long-term assets held by the firm, the current assets, market share, type of business activity and the business environment prevailing at a particular time (Nwankwo and Osho, 2010).…
