Congratulations, you've found the perfect home to buy! Right about now, you are probably on information overload, and looking for resources to get everything ready. One of the most important steps you need to take after getting that ratified contract is to get the home inspected. Like most subjects on the internet, there is a ton of information about home inspections, and how to hire them. One source that is very underrepresented though is probably the best one out there: the home inspectors themselves.…

When it comes to my career path I have always wanted to work with children but as I got older I developed a great passion for music. Music has always been around me, my dad was a big music buff. Since my father’s passing I feel like I have a special connection to him when I sing and listen to music. I’ve always been shy when it came to singing in front of an audience until I began going to Bethune-Cookman University. While I was enrolled there I joined a band and was singing in a local lounge every weekend and I loved it! Once I moved back home and enrolled in Georgia State I felt it was time to break out of my shell and truly begin to perform.…

For my first graded assignment in this class, I decided to interview a speech pathologist, named Ms. Caraway, that I’ve known for many years. Ms. Caraway initially became interested in deaf education at a young age in grade school, sometime after being introduced to sign language. She was fascinated by it, and eventually it led her to a class project in junior high that involved shadowing a professional. She shadowed a speech-language pathologist and observed many sides of the profession. She decided on that day, “This is what I am meant to do.”…

You walk into a room and are instantly greeted by rows upon rows of evenly spaced desks. The only think you have with you, is you pencil and calculator. You sit down, silently, and feel your nerves begin to kick in. You are told that you have only sixty minutes to answer sixty questions. As time ticks down, you realize you are not going to finish, so you start randomly guessing. This is a real life example of what happened to a fellow peer of mine, during the ACTs.…

I personally believe and appreciate that you have brought forth the section from in book, plus all your experience(s). Not only will these circumstances apply within the pediatric setting but we also have to think about it occurring in our adult population as well. As soon to be nurses, I do believe no matter what field we all decide to go into, we will either encounter situations like you’ve described more often than not or not at all. With that said, we still have to think about our lives out side of our job too and how that might affect how we react. It’s always going to be important for us to take care of ourselves first but that might seem easier than it sounds. What I mean by this; the loss of your own father, mother, son, daughter, grandparent etc, will weigh more on how we react when one of our patients dies.…

When walking into a hospital most people feel squeamish and uncomfortable. For me I have the feeling of belonging and home. I can remember the exact time when I decided to become a doctor. I was only eight years old and I was visiting my grandpa who had just had a life risking surgery and came out the other end okay. At this age I really don’t understand what all was going on. All I knew is the doctor had saved my grandpa, and I had more years to spend with him. When I walked into the room the doctor was standing over my grandpa and they were both laughing. That very moment I knew I wanted to become a doctor. I wanted to be the person that would allow a young girl to have more years with her grandpa. I want to help change the world one patient at a time. The road to becoming a doctor can be rough, but the outcome outweighs the struggle needed to get there. The duties of a doctor vary from one kind of doctor to the next, but all have a common denominator of taking care of the patient. First I will break down the exact process it takes to become and doctor.…
