Resolving Ethical Dilemmas Ethical issues are inevitable because we live in a world of diversity. Diversity brings many beliefs, attitudes and personalities. As a result, ethical issues are common. They come in many shapes, sizes, and favors. Even though ethical issues cannot be prevented, ethical issues can be resolved because sound decisions can by considering ethical lenses to address and resolve ethically issues. For instance, the ethics game simulation presented two common ethical issues. The first involved determining whether to use information obtained by one employee to discipline another employee for violating the NDA privacy. The second ethical issue involved developing a security policy that provides for employees ' physical safety and accommodates special needs. Although these issues are unpreventable, the ethics game simulation illustrated how each issue can be resolved by means of making decisions using ethical lenses. The ethics game simulation showed that the first step in the decision-making process to address each ethically issue was to identify the issue by means of reviewing the facts of the situation. The next step involved considering the stockholders. These are people who will be affected by the decision. The others steps involved evaluating alternatives, making the decision, implementing the decision, and finally evaluating the decision. Furthermore, four ethical lenses were considered to assist in making a decision.
The four ethical lenses used to make decisions in the ethics game simulation were the result lens, rights/responsibilities lens, relationships lens, and reputation lens.
