Response To Diversity

I am a 17 year old high school student who has grown up in Salt Lake City my entire life. I have played softball for almost nine years, I also play softball for my high school team, and I am a senior this year. I live with my parent’s and my little brother. My family has always been a very stable family, and we are there for each other for everything. My parent’s have been together for 15 years and married for ten years, my little brother is 12 years old, and he just started 7th grade at West Lake Junior High. I like to think my family is a very “normal” family. Both my parents work, we own a house, we have vehicles, and of course we wouldn’t be normal if we didn’t have a house full of animals. I have never really been the student to get a 4.0, although it would nice, it has just never been who I am. I am very thankful to have the opportunity to
My parents, especially my dad, have always been on my back about getting good grades. Although they do not expect a 4.0 out of me, my parents expect at least a 3.4. I have always struggled with making sure I do not have anything lower than a C, I tend to get really down on myself if I do so. I am not saying my classes are too hard or I do not understand, because I usually love the classes I take, I usually just fall back on doing homework and getting it turned in on time. Throughout my time in high school, I have definitely worked on those challenges.
I will not sit here and say I am better than anyone or deserve anything over anyone else. I will say that I am an amazing person who works hard for what they have earned. I would have to say my personality makes me stand out. I may seem shy at first, but doesn’t everyone. I love to work and be around people, I love joining the crowd and being involved. I do not enjoy sitting in the background watching opportunities pass me when I know I could have joined and
