The problem with this is that there are so many that can purvey that type of personality and really not be that person. Greed is a powerful thing and if someone of greed can find a loophole they will. The accounting field will not ever be fully cleared of crooked accountants and such. But the laws and regulations will help to pursue those that are crooked and punished them properly. Even those who are honest will sometimes manipulate data to get their reports to add up to what they should be. A more effective form of dealing with the issue of inaccurate data by mistake may need to be addressed. It may just be that for some reason it is not aligning the way it needs to and there may need to be adjustments made that are not able to be found. So precision may not be possible in some cases. This does not necessarily mean that the person who prepared the statements is unfair. unethical or immoral. This is why the auditing practice is in…
At Barack Obama's inauguration, Richard Blanco chose to read one of his poems. The poem he chose was called “One Today”. This was an appropriate poem for Richard to choose as it was suiting for the occasion. “One Today” has a large emphasis on what it means…
For this week’s post the poem I focused on is “Next to of course God America I” written by E. E. Cummings. E. E. Cumming is becoming my new favorite poet, I like his use of words both stylistically and for meaning, the way he makes them play together. This poem is not very forth coming with the 5w’. It’s only after reading it multiple times and looking up definitions that you start to have a slight sense of what is being illustrated. The poem is written in a way that it can carry multiple interpretations, and scenarios that make sense.…
Bradstreet began her poem out with immense sorrow at the burning of her home. The poem then turned to scorn for herself as she realized how dependent she had become on her possessions. However, the poem ends on a joyful note as she remembers her faith and turns back to God. Taylor’s poem did not change tone as drastically as Bradstreet’s yet he still gives a sense of humility in asking for God to use him and joy in the idea that his life is part of something much greater than himself.…

I remember when I first experienced goosebumps raise on my arms and send a shiver through my body, simply because the words leaving the speaker's lips left such an imprint on me. I didn’t think that a simple sentence could bring tears to my eyes, could cause me to react in any physical way. I didn’t even know the author. Yet, it still amazes me anytime I react to such a poem. The emotions that the author pours into every word and every syllable is astounding. Each pause and breath tell a story on their own. I knew that I had to try. I wanted to make people feel the way like I did when I first heard them, but because it was my words that made them react.…
“Ree ray rye roh( E.E Cummings).” E.E. Cummings was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1894. Cummings was a poet who broke the rules of poetry. How does E.E. Cummings create visual and hearing techniques to create meaning? Cummings uses visual and auditory techniques to create meaning.…
This poem strongly represents my own perspective of protest, as I naturally agree and appreciate the messages conveyed throughout. This image truly stimulated an emotional response, which made me feel a strong sense of pity for the fallen soldiers.…
Donald Hall is considered one of the major American poets of his generation. His use of simple and direct language creates an imagery that’s raw and beautiful. His passion for nature reflects in his poems and creates a nostalgic tone to them. Hall’s poems are very personal and most of them describe life changing moments or experiences he has encountered. Through his word choice, stanzaic structure, and metaphor one can see how Hall’s poems describe things that everyone experiences which makes it very relatable.…
Whitman’s free verse poem “I hear America Singing” expresses the joy and pride he feels towards personal identity. The speaker uses “singing”(1) repeatedly to describe the “varied carols”(1) or the sounds of various people working in their professions in a positive connotation to indicate his joy. The speaker’s diction of portraying the sounds as “singing” and “carols” are commonly associated with a festive atmosphere indicating joyfulness. In addition, the narrator states that the work they do “belongs to him or her and none else”(9). His message is that each individual has a unique role only they can fulfill and individuality is something to take pride in. The poem’s conclusion of “strong melodious song”(11) represents both his joy and pride…
Clearly this is a very important poem and we should all learn from this. I did especially because that makes me think what good I could do for people, especially the ones who need the help. I think this poem had went a long way, now you see that movies are being made about heroes around the world. Even though they are fiction, but we can be the real hero to everyone and make a difference in the…
Both Walt Whitman and Ralph Waldo Emerson believed strongly in originality and personal expression;although the different tactics that they used to get their message across were nothing short of contrasting. In Emerson’s case, he was vehemently opposed to a society that he saw to be oppressive and unimaginative. Emerson was convinced that all of modern human civilization was in collaboration to crush his uniqueness and subjugate him to a life of a faceless cog. “Society is in conspiracy against the manhood of everyone of its members.” (P. 153) Conversely, Whitman regarded the common man with much esteem and favoritism. In his epic poem, “Song of Myself” Whitman spoke of the working class with an unusual favoring and support of their ways and lifestyle. “The sun falls on the crisply hair and mustache, falls on the black of his polish’d and perfect limbs, and I behold the picturesque giant and love him.” (P.173) Whitman encouraged the reader to lead an original and unconfirmed life. He celebrated the common man and tells the reader to be happy with their life and social stature.…
