Response To Executive Order 906 'And Mericans': Poem Analysis
On this easy I’m gonna analyse the authors development on the theme. I will also be comparing and contrasting how the authors in the poem and the story develop the theme by using specific literary devices. The poem is called “ Response to Executive Order 9066” and the story is called “Mericans”. On the “Response to Executive Order 9066” it's talking about how a girl is writing back to this guy to tell her she’s ready to head to the place their taking her. She also feels more Japanese than American. She and her best friend Denise had to change this in their friendship because it symbolised the conflict between whites and Japanese. She also gives Denise tomato seeds as a representation of their friendship. Denise had to plant the seeds

The theme is the brutality of war. When the college friends were discussing about the war they’re about to take part in, Kropp said “Two years of shells and bombs a man won’t peel it off as easy as a sock” (Remarque 87). This shows the brutality of the war because it describes the effect the war puts on people is not easy to forget and for many, it’s permanent. As the friends were taking turns discussing war, Albert explained his view saying “The war has ruined us for everything” (Remarque 87). This shows brutality of war as well because it shows how broad the effect war is on people’s life. The theme of this book makes it a good book because its outcomes relates to the wars going on around the world right now. And it has important message/lesson on life in the front in the Great War, instead of just viewing the honor/patriotic part of the war it mainly focused on a very important part; fear and pressure. Thus the theme of this book is the brutality of war because of the characters description of the life at the front.…

First off, WE'RE SCREWED. It was the last presidential election of our time. The candidates were terrible. It was either World War III(Hillary) or The Purge(Trump) and I guess America chose The Purge. So, I guess it's time to say goodbye to all people of mixed or other ethnicities, because Trump's gonna make us all go back. Time to say goodbye to those we befriended and growled to love. Goodbye to all the things that actually make this country GREAT. He says, "Let's Make America Great Again," but does he really mean it. America was created as a place where people all over the world can come and make something of themselves. Now it's a place where we look down on those who are different or those of us will different talents. We judge people…

For example, in line three, the poet states, “and there the grass grows soft and white.” This supports the theme because it shows how a child’s mind is bright and calming like the atmosphere of our ideal world. On the other hand, the poet then comments how power-seeking adults affects our present world, and states in line seven “where the smoke blows black.” This line further develops the theme because it states the negative influence that more advanced and greedy minds have on our present world. Seemingly, the poet’s use of imagery contributes to the developing the theme: “Youth’s Perspective”. When we let our imagination take over then we can live with less hate and more…

A theme is a unifying or dominant idea and clearly portrayed in this novella a few obvious themes may include defiance, rebellion, fear of the unknown and fear of death. This passage more so focuses on the theme of defiance; as they claimed "We light cigarettes against orders..". There is a higher authority that has set rules for the soldiers. This idea of the 2 soldiers disobeying the rules is a very easily targeted example of rebellion or a rebellious act. As well as the soldier spoke of not falling asleep on sentry duty and when he noticed the second soldier Fry falling…

In the poem “Let America be America Again” by Langston Hughes, the speaker emphasizes a change that needs to be made in America. Langston Hughes brings about the problem of how America has veered from its original dream as a land for the free, now it operates being ran by oppressive powers starving the American people. Another way the author shows this appalling theme is through the use of characters. As the soldiers talk, you can see their mood and personalities; ironically this reflects how war has affected their minds and personal lifes. As the story develops you can see how the characters' life changes and how their thought of fear develops inside them. The soldiers manage to get use to the war environment, but they became more cold and less emotional. This ironic aspect expresses violence and death because after a solder has been to war, their whole aspect of life changes.…
