The best thing about my summer was obviously when my baby sister Ava was born! Which was July 30th and 7:43 pm. It feels like just yesterday I was finding out I was going to be a big sister. Back in January 2015, I was very nervous at first but then I got used to it and started to get thrilled by having a sibling. Now she is here and I love her with all my heart!
I will never forget that morning my mom came into my room to wake me up and tell me we had to go to the hospital. Several hours later Ava was born! I will remember all my life the first time I got to hold her. It was about 1 hour after she was born, she was so tiny! She didn’t cry much at first, and when she did it wasn’t that loud. Things have definitely changed, she likes to cry now, and really loud too. Besides that I love her so much! …show more content…
About a month before all the excitement of meeting my baby sister, I visited a beautiful place over the summer called Mackinac Island.
I stayed for the weekend in June. We camped at a nearby campground that was about 20minutes away from the island by boat. It felt like a dream when you were on the island because it was just so pretty. The most magnificent part is that no cars are allowed on the island so all you see is bikes, and horse and buggies. My favorite part was when my grandparents, Hannah and I biked 8 miles around the entire island. It was probably the easiest bike ride ever because I was so distracted by the stunning view. It would tell you what mile you were on too because a sign to the side of the road would say mile 1, mile 2, mile 3,
etc.
Before meeting my sister, and going to Mackinac Island I got to do one of my favorite things I did all summer, go to Tennessee. My cousins live in Tennessee and I love visiting them. When I was there we went to downtown Nashville and it is crazy cool there! Nashville is also called Music City, USA. Another thing is when I was in Tennessee we went to the Opry Land hotel and it was enchanting there! They had a waterfall and the roof was a dome it was beautiful. The best part is that some famous people have stayed there before. Last but not least, I went to a waterpark and went down a 100ft water slide!
Overall, my summer was memorable! That means I will never forget it. Tennessee, Mackinac Island, and meeting my baby sister. I am sad that it’s over but I am glad that I have so many great memories from it.
