(TUHOG)
TUHOG---from the title itself and without knowing what it is really all about or even not seeing the trailer, movie goers would think that it’s just another sexy film or should I say the so called bold movies that experimenting teenagers, mature guys and old men would watch in a not so popular movie theater. But as a matter of fact, it is a movie beyond its title.
Basically TUHOG in its literal sense is about three individuals accidentally skewed together by a pipe and how their stories became connected with each other. The center of the story is love with different plot twists. It begun with the melancholic yet romantic story of Fiesta (Eugene Domingo) and Timbancaya (Jake Cuenca). Unlike the other love stories the spark between these two is not easily seen. Even the idea of it doesn’t seem possible, not because Fiesta is not princess like but because her personality can eat Timbancaya alive. The fact that these two were never in good terms the moment they met pretty much explains everything. But then as their story slowly develops I also slowly appreciate the beauty of how they are. Fiesta and Timbancaya is a perfect example of many people sharing the same pain of being left behind and yet they can still give love. I applaud Fiesta’s unconditional love for his alcoholic and selfish father. Not many can do that and Timbancaya who is brave enough to stand for his love to her even if he knows how painful it is to be hurt again. Although their love story didn’t end like how I wanted to be because Fiesta chose to let go of Timbancaya so he could go back to the wife that left him and to his daughter, still it is a good example for everybody to make the right decisions and be brave to be hurt for the sake of others. Specially nowadays that most of us don’t know how to appreciate real love when we have and let go when we needed to. Caloy (Enchong Dee) and Angel’s (Empress Shuck) story is a little bit light and funny but still portrays
