The author of the book “Miss Wyoming” is Douglas Coupland. When I started to read the book in the beginning I was quite interesting. Then following chapters I lost the topic. I obviously say that I did not have connections with each chapter when I was continuing to read the book. Indeed, each episode there are a new independent events, new faces as well. So it was difficult to guess events and to consider about the relations between episodes. Honestly, I was unimpressed.
There are two main characters in the book: John Johnson and Susan Colgate. Firstly, Johnson is a successful movie producer. He will make a movie which is named in the novel B movie. Secondly, Colgate is a child pageant star. When she was going to United States there was an air crash. Although this accident she survived without scratch. Nevertheless she is a B movie actress that Johnson wants to make it.
The novel begins with these two main protagonists meeting. Later, due to the air crash she disappears. Johnson cannot finish his movie without Susan. In order to make his movie he has to find Susan Colgate. Following these events, the other characters in the novel they speak about Susan’s and Johnson’s vanish though flashbacks. There is no chronological order in each chapter. In every chapter the main characters are mentioned in my point of view it is too much because the story revolves on two main protagonists it makes readers fed up and bored.
However, in the novel utilized language is good. It is not so difficult to understand. The characters are well-drawn. John is the first one. I realize that he thinks about himself, he is self-interested. I do not like him because I dislike such feeling. He is disinterested in the world. However, Susan Colgate is not like him she my favorite character in the novel. About her in the chapters of the book I read with a great pleasure. I think she is more real character because she has more connection to the world. Definitely,
