This book was not that interesting because it took too long to get the point across and then they stayed on the point too long. Some parts of the book were good so it turns out to be a so so book or an okay book to read.…
In her skillfully written narrative, Eaton delves into the complex reasons hindering equal access to a quality education for the nation's children, a problem with a long and messy history. Beginning with Brown v. Board of Education in 1954, the U.S. courts were, for a few decades at least, a place where civil rights made noteworthy gains. But in many places the attempts at desegregation were never really established, and by the '80s, what had been accomplished was quickly being lost. The reasons for today's education faults are, for many, almost undetectable. The author presents a fascinating group of kids from an inner-city school in Hartford, Connecticut, who struggle to learn in a characteristically disheartened and under-funded urban public school.…
The book opens with Greg Heffley saying how embarrassing it is to be having a journal with "diary" on the front and that whoever sees him with it will call him a "sissy". Greg also goes to mention that one day he will become rich and famous but for now he is "stuck in middle school with a bunch of morons".…
Wm. Paul Young wrote The Shack in 2011. This is not a book for everyone because it contains some topics that can be to much for some people. But if you like to read about how a family deals with deep sorrow and death, than you can benefit from this book. It can be used as a preparation of a discussion about these difficult topics. Having said that we notice that the book is selling very well and has great reviews as well.…
Ladies and gentleman of the jury I find the book mocking jay by Suzanne Collins in 2010 to be very good at keeping me in suspense and keeping me interested. However, there were areas in which the book was not quite as good such as giving all the details, being too violent, and isn’t good for little kids. The book is a good book and I liked it but I didn’t like it as much as I did the first 2 books and this last book disappointed me. I was expecting some amazing ending to the series of the hunger games but I was let down from the things that happened in the book. Mocking jay is just a sad book that doesn’t even seem humane for the capitol to be doing to all of these different districts.…

The first book begins with an introduction to Gregory (Greg) Heffley and his middle school life. It takes place during his sixth grade year. The book also explains the "cheese touch" early on. It is similar to the game of tag in which the person who touched the moldy cheese at the blacktop which has never been bothered to be taken off, after it had accidentally fallen out of someone's sandwich, a year earlier, had to get rid of it by touching someone else. In the first half of the book, events such as Halloween, learning how to wrestle, and acting in the play of The Wizard of Oz. During trick-or-treating, Greg and Rowley are ambushed by a group of teenagers. Then they take refuge at Greg's grandmother's house and taunt the teenagers from there by making sounds and faces at them. On Christmas Day, it shows Greg getting very few presents that he would like. Rowley bought Greg a Big Wheel. Greg then throws a football at Rowley while he is riding the the big whell and Rowley breaks his hand. At school, Rowley is surrounded by girls that encourage him to get well which makes Greg mad. Later, he and Rowley join the Safety Patrol whose responsibility is to walk home morning kindergarteners. However, Greg gets kicked off the Patrol for chasing the Kindergarteners with a worm. When Greg gets kicked off, Rowley starts to ignore Greg. Slowly, they begin drifting apart and Rowley starts hanging out with Collin Lee; and when he went to Rowley's house, Greg retaliates by spending his night at Fregley's. That turns into a disaster as Fregley goes hyper by eating too much candy, and Greg runs away in the middle of the night. Nearing the end of the school year, Rowley's comic strip is entered into the school's newspaper. Greg tells Rowley to list him as the co-creator because it was his idea and joke punchline. Rowley then denies that Greg had anything to do with it. They get ready to fight but are then interrupted by the teenagers they taunted on Halloween. They showed up to pay…
"There's a Wocket in my Pocket!" is an interesting children's book created by Dr. Seuss. At first glance one is given the impression that "There's a Wocket in my Pocket!" is just another fantasyland children's book by Dr. Seuss with a goofy cast of characters and amusing, memorable rhyme scheme. However, when one digs beneath the surface he will come to realize that this expresses a tale of paranoia and insanity that has been unparalleled in modern society.…
As an 11-year old boy entering his first year of middle school, Gregory Heffley in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid finds himself in the transition between childhood and adulthood. Unsure of his role in his friendships, school, and his family, Greg develops significantly in the film.…
As Swiss psychiatrist Carl Gustav Jung once said, “As far as we can discern, the sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light in the darkness of a mere being.” In other words, man’s purpose in life is to help one another find the good in a world of malevolence. In Lord of the Flies by William Golding, it becomes apparent to the reader the contrast in shades between the good and the bad. Each person here on Earth has two parts of his or her being: light and dark. It is the side people choose which defines them. Take for example Ronald Reagan. He could have easily continued with his successful career as a movie star. But instead, he chose to move into the realm of politics, where greed and corruption rule. His mission? To be the voice for those who have none, and to fight for the common good of our nation. The world would be perfect if everyone chose the light side. But like a classic movie, if there is a ‘good guy’, there must also be a ‘bad guy’. And so a divide is created. Humanity must speak up for what is right and moral, see the goodness in everything, and to realize that each small random act of kindness is equal to many unkind acts. Therefore, one must agree that human nature is essentially good.…
Lazy - I say that Greg is very lazy, for several reasons. First, one time on his way to school he made Rowley, his best friend, carry him on a piggy back. Second, during the summer Greg would NEVER do any sports or get any physical activity instead he would just stay at home all day playing video games and since his dad expects him to be playing outside, every time right before his dad came home, he’d turn off his video games, run out to the backyard, run through the sprinklers and pretend to play football all by himself.…
I have read your book A Million Little Pieces, and I was wondering if I can turn your book into a play. Make an adaptation of your book. I believe it would be great as a play because many schools preform plays. It would be an amazing way to education kids about drugs, and what drug addicts around the world are going through in similar cases to yours Mr. Frey. It’s an opportunity for students to watch their peers acted out and put their selves in someone else’s shoes. They would develop an impact of engagement to the character they would be assigned to play or be.…
