Review Of Linda Sue Park's A Long Walk To Water
A Long Walk to Water is an inspirational story written by Linda Sue Park. I relate to this story because as Salva made his long, tiring journey he had inspiration from family and friends. His friend Mariel who helped him make progress towards Ethiopia. Sadly, his friend was taken by lions while they slept. Also Salva’s uncle gave him inspirational words which helped him through not only the walk but the rest of his life.Uncle also perished due to war. People like that also exist in my life. My parents, coaches, and friends inspire me to keep on going and push past my limits to achieve what I’ve been searching for. When trying out for a team, working for school, or fulfilling personal goals I will always have someone there to influence me to

Face in the Water ends with the following passage. “I looked away from them and tried not to think of them and repeated to myself what one of the nurses has told me, “when you leave hospital you must forget all you have ever see, put it out of your mind completely as if it never happened, and go and live a normal life in the outside world.” And by what I have written in this document you will see, won’t you, that I have obeyed her?”(Chapter XVII Pg 253) The entire time I was reading this book, I could not await to find out why Istina was in the hospital. What had she done? I just knew she had murdered someone, but we never find out what she did to be but in the hospital. I think the reason Janet Frame let the details of Istina life before her…

As the result of change, an individual is able to be inspired to go through a personal journey which will assist them in finding themselves rather than influence society to change their perspective, however their experiences can bring a societal shift to the stereotypical beliefs of individuals. Throughout Shakespeare's comedic play As You Like It, love is an ongoing catalyst that allows an individual to inspire ones personal journey. In addition, Gwen Harwood's In the Park allows individuals to gain new experiences as a result of the, arguably, negative change into motherhood. This reflects upon how a personal journey can effectively change the stereotypical beliefs that society hold on parenthood. Evident in both these texts, change has played a crucial role in bringing new experiences to individuals which provide them with opportunities to change their attitudes as well as influence the society to.…

My dad had to work through the many physical and mental challenges and tests in order for him to make his dream come true. However, when he met my mom and they were instantly in love. After they got married, my mom spoke to my dad telling him that if they were going to have a family, my mom wouldn't want to have to worry about his safety, because being a firefighter is very dangerous and stressful on a family. So, my dad decided that being a dad was more important to him. Although it was still hard for him to know that his hard work to become a firefighter was all for nothing. Another example of when my dad had to persevere was when he had a seizure. My dad had 3 seizures and he told me that he felt as if he wasn't in control of his body. He said that knowing he didn’t have control was one of the scariest things he has experienced. He had to work through fears going through his head, but also physically. He had to go through many tests and recovery assignments that required him to persevere physically. Overall, my dad has worked very hard to get to where he is now and that is why he is a great example of showing what perseverance can…
