There are 4 different forms of child abuse, which are Physical, Emotional, Sexual Abuse, and Neglect. Physical abuse is violence directed toward a child by a parent or another form of legal guardian. A form of physical abuse is Shaken Baby Syndrome, when an individual shakes a child violently over a period of time leading to the deterioration of the child's brain or other organs which can lead to hospitalization or death.
Emotional abuse is when a parent, legal guardian or caregiver causes the child to feel worthless and rejected using words, names, and other harmful verbal abuse. Sexual abuse can be verbal, which can lead to physical contact, exposing one’s self or pornagrphy to the child is also forms sexual abuse. Neglect is a form of abuse where the parent, legal guardian and/or caregiver doesn’t care for their child's physical, emotional, disciplinary, and/or educational needs.
2. What types of physical care must a parent provide an infant child?
The type of physical care a parent must provide an infant child are nearly everything, infants are almost powerless and need their parents to bathe them, feed them, dress them, change their diapers, and to keep them clean.
3. What are some strategies for helping a child cope with stress?
Some strategies that parents can use to help a child cope with stress are to encourage their child to have an open communication, also to have enough trust so they feel comfortable opening up to you about what's bothering them. Parents should help their child solve their their problems not just solve them for them. It is important to provide a home environment that is stable and free of hostility and violence.
