In 2 to 3 double spaced typed pages, write an analytical essay on any one of the following questions. Your papers must be computer typed, and double-spaced, using a common font such as “Times New Roman,” size 12.
Questions
1. What were the causes of the American Revolution?
2. Describe the major causes of the discontent of the French Third Estate before the French Revolution.
4. Describe the major causes of the French Revolution of 1789.
Hand in a hard copy of your paper not later than 11:59 p.m. on April 16 2013. For this assignment, emailed papers are not acceptable.
Instructions:
1. This is not a regular term paper assignment, but an exercise in essay writing.
2. Citations, references, footnotes, and bibliographies are not needed, but your essay must read fluently.
3. Attempt to give an answer that is as coherent and analytical as possible.
4. Avoid unfocused narratives. In other words, your essay must aim at answering the question.
5. Good grammar, correct spellings and orderly presentation of material shall count in the evaluation of your work. Spell/grammar check your work. Sentences that make no sense will not earn any points.
6. Your paper must have a cover page containing the following information: a) The name of your university in bold types at the top center of the page. b) The title of your paper in bold types mid-way down the page and centralized. Note: Do not change the wordings of your chosen question. c) Your name should follow immediately below the title. d) At the bottom of the page, provide information on: ―Course name: ―Course Section: ―Instructor's name: ―Semester
7. Number your pages, starting from page 2.
