Reyna Chicken Monologue
While waiting for her mother in the lobby, Reyna asked for permission to walk outside the office. This worker refused and advised her to stay inside the lobby sicne she did not . When Reyna saw her mother approach from a distance, she shouted, “mommy, mommy” and held the door wide open to wait for her mother. The mother arrived at the office at 4:38 P.M. After 5-10 minutes talking to her counselor, the mother followed this worker into a visitation room. She bought Reyna chicken nuggets and French fries from Burger King. Reyna immediately snacked on French fries and told this worker that it was her favorite food. The mother gave her daughter a pair of hand-crafted necklace that were made by her brother. In the visitation room, Reyna checked out toys after finishing her food. Picking up a …show more content…
She then checked Reyna’s backpack for books but could not find one. Picking up a pair of plastic sunglasses, the mother asked Reyna to put it on. She complimented for the look of her daughter. Reyna then asked her mother to try on the sunglasses. They looked at the mirror and smiled at each other. Picking up miniature little ponies, Reyna and her mother spoke in the roles of their characters. They switched roles and took part in their imaginary story plot. At 6:15 P.M., Reyna wanted to read books. She and her mother picked up a few books from another visitation room. Back to their room, Reyna listened to her mother’s reading while sitting next to her and eating ice. At 6:22 P.M., this worker asked the mother to clean up. While putting back toys, Reyna was attracted to other toys in the room and wanted to check them out. The mother advised her daughter to continue in her future visits. In the lobby, Reyna asked her mother about her car. The mother ensured Reyna that the car was fixed and gave her daughter a kiss. While following this worker to the car, Reyna looked back and said, “Bye, mommy” in a high-pitch
