Introduction
Social Networking Services, also called Social Networking Sites (SNS), are designed to upon interaction, to create communities of people online, and provide the required software to do this. Web-based social networking spaces offer a way for individuals or groups to create a profile of them, then share that profile with other members of social networking space. The specific site also provides a variety of ways for users to communicate with others in space, such as chat rooms, site mails, notes, file sharing or other types of discussion, groups, and videos and so on. People use social networking sites for a huge number of personal reasons. Some may want an easy way to keep in touch with family and friends, some may use it for business or job finding, others may use it for dating or just to find like-minded individuals online. Social Networking Sites are very easy way to access and the users have a lot of things they can do and get from these. That is why the researchers choose this topic, to ponder and to prove if Social Networking Sites really do affect their study habits and academic performance in school. Social Networking simply means classifying individuals into specific groups, such as small rural communities in a neighborhood subdivision. Social Networking is most popular online, other areas being workplace, universities and high schools. It offers numerous benefits that could help you grow, personally, and as well as professionally. The main advantages of Social Networking include talking to others, building relationships and finding people who are similar to us.
Statement of the Problem This research aimed to identify the Effects of Social Networking Sites on the Academic Performance of Selected Third year students of Amazing Grace School S.Y. 2012-2013.
