Gun control legislation is tremendously discussed issue in Unites States. In “Just Take Away Their Guns” by James Q. Wilson he discusses about gun control and legal registration of licensed guns is not working to prevent crimes. So he proposes an alternative method that can prevent crimes and an effective way to reduce illegal gun carrying. Wilson accomplishes to convince his audience that removal of illegal guns must be the emphasis on gun control laws to prevent crimes with his proper use of logos, ethos, pathos and his effort of proposing the alternative method to his argument.

Not only Wilson was a professor of management and public policy, but also he is an author of many books. The books include The Moral Sense (1993), Bureaucracy (1989) and Thinking about Crime (1975). He also uses some other credible sources to support his argument within the essay which includes Gary Kleck, a criminologist at Florida State University, the fourth amendment, and Mark Moore, a professor of public policy at Harvard University. He proves the audience his credibility and his background in the knowledge of a crime.
