His reason for doing this was to figure out some new solutions for maximizing the uses of small spaces. He had a 420 sq ft apartment in Manhattan that he wanted to get the most he uses out of the space he had. He wanted a home office, enough space for a sit down dinner for 10, a room for gusts, and enough space to store all of his kite surfing gear. He got his very own little jewel box after receiving over 300 entries or ideas from all over the world. Hills final design was created specifically for his favorite possessions.
