As doctor king gives his speech I’ve been on a mountaintop he starts off by thanking one of his best friends for giving him some really kind words, as well as that he also thanks the audience for being there to show support even through a bad storm. This shows the respect that doctor king had towards people who stood by his side and listened to the message he was trying to portray. Doctor king then moved on to talk about issues, such as Memphis and the wrong doing of the state and what we could do for this issue. Dr. King goes on to say that non-violence is needed to stop problems. King had a vision that the community should band together and create its own jobs. He thought that this would not only better the poverty rate in the black community but it would stop unnecessary killings and make a better work environment for blacks.
