Rhetorical Analysis Of Martin Luther King's Speech

Martin Luther King’s speech of 1963 is a declaration of not only the need, but also the responsibility for America to live up to the promise made by the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States. The promise of freedom, justice, equality, mobility, and prosperity, is a promise to all citizens of all colors. This promise is not being kept, and the time has come for everyone, both black and white, to join together to ensure this promise is met. King’s speech outlines that equality is not achieved through violence, but through all Americans joining together to help each other. Unfortunately, white Americans are not honoring this commitment as they continue to maintain segregation, injustice, police brutality, and discrimination
