February, 8, 2017 “Who Are You”
A few years prior a reporter strolled around New York city casing and stopping outsider at random. Asking everyone “Who are you?”, most people give straightforward answers like their names, nationalities, profession and even their religion . The answer each person give, it reflect how they viewed themself and what important to tell a stranger about them. It does not matter if a young girl thinks herself as an old woman or a as an adult. Does what she think of herself change how she dresses, behave or interact with others. It does not matter how you answer the question “who are you”, your reaction to the question give the person questioning some kind of idea of how you
view yourself. Your name is Clarence and people think is , people who were name Clarence are cowards. Does the name parents give for you while you were less than an hour old define your character? Surname can affect a person's more than their first names. Tom Wang an employer read the name and thinks to himself “ no orientals are sneaky”,Ah there a good one William Robinson, lets see his his qualifications. Of Course his letter are going to be read while other are not going to be. In this same way young children also pick up word and phrase that adult use to show their prejudice. Young children learn things quickly and they can used it against other without knowing the reason it could hurt someone else. The way people treat you affect not only you but other point of view of you as well. Prejudices are spread from one person to another. Name can affect not only other people view of individual but view of that person. Some people who do not know anything about jews know that they hate jews. Thy do not wait for proof but see what others show them. Picture of you hated by other, not because you did something wrong, or you fail to do something, but because you live in a society where there prejudices for black people are held and black people are not liked. There was a study held few years ago where a researcher told the teacher of a school that intelligence of her student would make a lots of progress in their school work because they were specially selected group. His hypothesis was right the children made tremendous progress through the school year although before the experiment they were a class with normal IQ. The label you are given affects you and other people’s view about you.
