On June 16th at his very own Trump Tower in New York City, Donald Trump announced that he would be running for president. Donald Trump was elected on November 8th, 2016 and became the 45th president of the United States on January 20, 2017. The President’s speech was unlike any other, he gave a very populist message that was an influence on the campaign trail, as well. President Trump starts off his speech stressing the importance of joining “in a great national effort to rebuild our country” and then slowly moves on to basically subtweeting the last presidency.
