Thank you for your feed back, I would check again for grammar and editing, I believe there have been some erros. Regarding to share my paper with your educators, I really do not know; what would you suggest Dr. Privitera. This is a topic that I have considered for my Capstone project. I am somehow affraid that someone else copy the study if there is good potential on it. However, I would strongly consider Dr. Privitera's advise.…
A once hot topic became a now law-enforced face. Child labor has been a controversial issue and Florence Kelley was one of the many protestors that brought success to the child labor laws. She was an avid fighter and was not only against child labor laws but also woman’s suffrage. On July 22, 1905, Kelley gave and impeccable speech at the Convention of National American Woman Suffrage Association in Philadelphia about child labor laws. To successively persuade her listeners, Kelley used versatile amounts of strategies, ranging from repetition of key words, to ethical appeal and even inserting political allusions. Florence Kelley utilized persuasive techniques to convey her message that she is dearly passionate about.…
You will be writing your Profile essay to your local community. Imagine you might submit the Profile to your local newspaper or have it shared in a community newsletter; the readers of those publications make up your target audience. In two to three paragraphs, define your local community and describe what makes it unique. What are the needs, expectations, motivations,…
Aside from the confusion I had, the only problem that I had with your novel was that it was a little slow in the middle. I understand that the book can’t be constantly moving at a fast pace, but I thought that there could be a minor, adventurous activity, where the book was sluggish. I only have that one critique for you and usually I have many more, therefore I think you did a tremendous job with this book. I think you should…
The Three Rhetorical Appeals are the three main points by which people are influenced, and it allows you to effectively evaluate different texts and arguments for their oratorical strategies. The first, Logos, is the method of reason, logic, or facts. Any type of argument which appeals to someone’s rational side is appealing to logos. Second, Ethos, an approach of credibility, authority, or character, appeals to demonstrate the author’s expertise, trustworthiness, and honesty and tries to put the author in a more positive position to the audience. Lastly, Pathos, this is a strategy of affect and emotions. Pathos appeals to an audience’s emotions of anger, excitement, or sorrow. These three points are important to the audience to analyze the…

At this point in time it seems as if though the majority of Millennials, myself included, have mastered the art of digital conversation. “I Had A Nice Time With You Tonight. On The App.”, an editorial written by Jenna Wortham, the author delves into the vast number of social media outlets we’ve grown accustomed to having at our exposal and convenient it is for so many opportunities to communicate lie in the palm of your hand. Although social media and the internet can get out of whack sometimes, I certainly agree with what Wortham has to say about it.…
1- When I wrote the summary I considered the audience to be in high school because I tried to use the words that I don’t regularly use. 2- There is a lot of points that I learned about summarizing throughout this essay, for example, I didn't know that I had to write about the author of the article in the introduction. Secondly, I didn't know about the thesis statement and what should be included within it.…
Rhetoric is the use of descriptive language in the form of rhetorical devices to create meaning between people. Rhetoric can be described as: “...a technique of using language effectively and persuasively in spoken or written form” (“Rhetoric - Examples and Definition of Rhetoric”). In simpler terms, rhetoric allows for communicators to persuade or to relate to their audience. Rhetoric’s most important job is creating connections through writing by using rhetorical devices. Rhetoric’s creates emphasis on important parts of a written piece in order to create a message for the reader. By using rhetorical devices, rhetoric helps both the audience and the writer find common ground on an idea and therefore helps writer persuade the reader to their…
Since 65% of community citizens aged 16 and older work in the labor force, I chose this demographic as a focal point. Keeping this in mind, an instructional strategy that would benefit student learning is teaching though relatable, real world applications. Relating instruction to everyday experiences supports student engagement, understanding, and motivation. As a learning activity, students will independently choose and complete a job application for a real position that interests them in their community. This activity not only teaches students necessary skills they need for their future, it also gives them something tangible that relates directly to their world. By taking into account the percentage of students in the labor force and using…
Sara thought she was never going to be able to work to fund her education and lost all hope. With the implementation of DACA her dream of receiving an education at UCLA became a reality. Another speaker that stood out was a second year by the name of Erika. Erika’s mother suffers from the mental illness Schizophrenia. Her mother was deported and arrested for being undocumented and Erika’s upbringing was tough. Erika closed her presentation with a quote that stayed with me, it goes as follows “you do with what you can or have”. No matter how tough the circumstances are in life you have to deal with what you have and continue living. My friend Josh had the privilege to speak in front of the audience and it was nice hearing what he had to say. He made good points about the citizenship test. He said that the citizenship is bullshit and that it is crazy how the government makes people from different countries learn about the history of U.S. United States citizens probably would not pass the test if they were tested. I believe that injustice is prevalent for undocumented people and there needs to be a…
In America, there used to be unfair laws and regulations regarding labor. Children are put to work in harsh conditions, conditions often deemed difficult even for adults, and are forced to work ridiculous hours. Florence Kelley gave a speech at the National American Woman Suffrage Association in Philadelphia on July 22, 1905. In her speech, Kelley uses repetition, pathos, imagery, logos, and carefully placed diction to express how child labor is morally wrong and inhumane.…
A rhetorical situation is a situation that is modified by an issue, an audience, and a set of constraints, or limitations. Through this, you create a context that applies these three things in unison. The first part being an exigence, or issue. This is the main motivation of the discourse or situation that is likely to be desired to change. These contain the part of the rhetorical situation that might apply a question and cause the need for resolution. The second part, audience, are (at least in Bitzer’s scheme) is a real group of people that witness the exigence. They might be directly involved, or they might be bystanders. They might also be a group that has yet to form. They might also be the one’s who are desiring the resolution within…
Have you ever thought a fictional story, would be a waste of time? Most people think so,but my experience on reading fiction is that, i think that fiction is way more interesting than non-fiction.For example the raven its not real but it was very interesting and it kept you actually engaged…
Pope Urban II gave a very motivational speech at The Council of Clermont. The speech was so motivational that it even motivated people to embark on the conquest to Jerusalem whom he did not even intend. The quest to recapture Jerusalem from the Turks was not only a religious escapade, but also unified the Christians, promised repentance of sin, promised fortune, happiness, and shame to those who did not serve God.…
