Ms. Bigby was questioned if she had any prior claims she may have filed for any other losses. Ms. Bigby went on to say that she did not recall as she had discussed this information with her adjuster in this case. As the investigator attempted to refresh her memory by asking if the claim was through Travelers Insurance, Ms. Bigby stated that she does not believe that she had to disclose this information to this investigator and thought that this interview was about her current claim. She then proceeded to say that that the complaint occurred approximately six months ago when she was using a rental car when it was broken into. She argued that many items were stolen from within the car and could not provide any details of the articles taken and the amount of the loss that included where and when the theft occurred. A new generation had come along and had forgotten the old values of the genteel reformers and became “eager to respond to amusement in a less earnest cultural mood: more vigorous, exuberant, daring, sensual, uninhibited, and irreverent” (Kasson 6). These cultural changes going on were greatly reflected by Coney Island and the entertainment it offered people. Coney Island provided a place where people could escape the big city and enter “a world apart from ordinary life, prevailing social structures and conditions” (41). Coney Island countered the cities atmosphere by encouraging behavior that would have been considered unacceptable in any other public setting. The amusement parks at Coney Island inspired its visitors to be “temporarily freed from normative demands” (41). When people entered Coney Island their customary roles and status were abandoned and everyone became equal to one another. Coney Island accommodated all people, regardless of their ethnicity or social class standing. This aspect was especially important for new immigrants and working class groups. Coney Island included these groups of people and provided them with “a means to participate in mainstream American culture on an equal footing” (40). This contrasted with the atmosphere of the cities and gave the immigrants and working class a better sense of belonging while they were on the…

As time and different ethnic groups pass by, America is transforming and shaping their definition of American culture. So far, America went through the change of becoming more urban and industrial. With society that’s focused on industries, leisure and fun was a rare thing to think about. Soon enough, Coney Island emerges to serve as an escapade from the strict genteel order. Kasson argues the fact that Coney Island was more than an amusement park, it was known as the visualization of the new American culture, straying away from the Victorian Genteel order, at the turn of the century.…

Because the jury issues but a mere advisory opinion and not binding upon the court, Florida’s sentencing scheme must be unconstitutional. Florida’s statute requires that a court imposing the death sentence must make a written, detailed finding. My fellow Americans, I have come to speak to you about the partisanship that we see in our government. A time where our government officials are more concentrated on the needs of their individual party then the needs of the American people. The fact the some in Congress may much rather see their opponents lose than to see America win, is extremely disappointing. People we have many options in this great country we live in. But what is not in option is for us to allow Washington…
