Richard Hunt Growing Analysis

The third piece of art work I choose is created by Richard Hunt. The title of the sculpture is called Growing. Richard Hunt made this sculpture in nineteen eighty five. The plaque does not describe the subject of the art work but I think it may be about the trees or nature growing based on the name and the looks of this piece. The medium of this art work is made from welded bronze. The size of the art piece is 83*21*29 in. The location of the art piece is also at Weatherspoon Art Museum which is also located in the court yard of the museum. The sculpture is not a reproduction it is an original. My selection fits into the broader collection because it is a sculpture and it is located in the sculpture garden which is outside of the museum.
When I look at the sculpture it makes me feel happy. It reminds me of the beach when I look at it. I believe that this sculpture is beautiful and challenging to the eye. The reason I say this is because to me it looks like elements of the beach but to other people it may look like something totally different. I think the piece was influenced by nature. The artist may have loved the outdoors which could have lead him to creating this art work. The sculpture was also located in the sculpture garden at the museum. I thought throughout the whole visit at the art museum that the sculpture garden was the most enjoyable because I liked the three dimensional shapes and art work better than the two dimensional stuff like the paintings. Even when first walking into the building the ceiling had a sculpture that was in an oval form in it. That was very interesting to see because I have never been in a building that the ceiling had a sculpture in it. Over all the art museum visit was not very interesting to me. I found that I do not like going to art museums at all but I do enjoy most of the three d pieces of art or at least the ones there at that museum were
