Rikki Tikki is a brave character in this story. In one example, Rikki said to Nag, “Do you think it is right for you to eat fledglings out of a nest?”(para 25). Rikki Tikki stands up for his friend Darzee to let Nag know that he made a bad choice. Darzee now knows that Rikki is a good friend that will never let him down. For instance “Rikki-Tikki felt his eyes growing red and hot.” (para 31). This implies Rikki was furious at Nagaina because she dodged his bite and Rikki only got her tail. After reading “A Change of Heart about Animals”, Jeremy Rifkins argues that animals should be treated in a more humane way. I agree with Rifkins argument because I have seen animals get abuse and it should not be like that. People may say that they do not feel anything but THEY DO! It’s similar to when a humane it getting abused. Many researchers are finding that the animals are similar to us in many ways: they feel pain, suffer, and experience stress, affection, excitement, and even love. Deep in Cajun country there is a legend, it is the legend of a shape shifter known by the locals as the Rougarou. The Rougarou is known to suck the blood out of its prey, somewhat similar to the Mexican Chupacabra, but unlike the Chupacabra, the Rougarou does not have a preference to a certain animal such as the Chupacabra to goats. The Rougarou is known to stalk farm animals and decimate the bodies in the night, leaving the farmers in dismay as to who or what has killed his/her livestock. The local sheriffs departments seem to get quite a few of “strange calls” to disturbances on the bayou that most of the time are just trespassing or breaking and entry, but sometimes, just sometimes, things get weird.…

He implies throughout the article that animals like us, feel pain, experience stress, affection, excitement, and even love (33) . He claims that animals should be treated better because they experience similar emotions we do.
