Officer Brently Vinson fatally shot Scott after police repeatedly told him to drop the weapon, which was found at the scene. “Protests” or riots began. Curfew was enforces, trucks were caught on fire, stores were looted, and sixteen police officers were injured and a hand full of civilians were injured in the two night riots. In Tulsa, Terrence Crutcher were shot by police. Crutcher disobeyed police order and reached into his car after police repeatedly told him not to. Officer Betty Shelby shot Crutcher in that he was reaching for a gun. Riots were widespread throughout the country when Crutcher was shot and killed. A gun was not found but PCP, a highly illegal drug, was found. This is extremely important for the media to know. Sadly, the rioters look past the facts and continue to harass their cities public places. Many people should also be aware of the riots because it could cause harm to the general public. Politically, this affects the US a lot. All the other first-world countries see this as a downside to living here. They see it as if you break the law and your a minority you are going to get shot. Which makes the US less desirably for immigration. Socially it’s just unacceptable to riot and destroy people's hard work and property. Rioting like stealing, but it is stealing someone's property and depriving someone of a ride to work or a day of business. Economically is affects the city and the US. Who’s going to pay for the damaged police cars, or the damaged roads from the fires. Also who’s going to pay the National Guard. All that money being spent can go to different things. Schools could get upgraded, teachers could get paid better, or police could get paid more. Everything took a turn for the worst when the police shootings
