After finally receiving right to vote, many women of the twenties searched for further steps toward female power. This group of women fought to better conditions for women and children and encouraged women to expand their societal roles. The League of Women was founded to aid their efforts. Adversely, some females rejected the innovative ideas of the enlightened women. This less radical group agreed that women should be deemed equal to men in terms of job, but did not wish for further rights or standards. Both congregations help lay the groundwork for the equality found in today’s society. Coinciding with the rapid social changes, a brand new fashion was introduced to the people of the twenties. As women gained pride in their modern status, their clothing grew bolder. Dress were tightened, skirts were shortened, and sleeves were removed altogether. The new manner was supported by the constant marketing technique of sexual enticement.
