Robert Frost And Emerson Research Paper

The prompt for this essay was on my choice of 2 early American poets or novelists. The two poets that I chose were Robert Frost, and Ralph Waldo Emerson which were American poets that have had many famous works published. These two authors were both of the 18th century, and published many works throughout their long lives. Robert Frost was born on March 26, 1874 in San Francisco, California. He was raised for 11 years there until his father William Prescott Frost Jr. died of tuberculosis. After that tragedy, he moved with his mother and sister in Lawrence, Massachusetts for many years. Growing up after that, he lived with his grandparents and attended Lawrence High School. During high school he met his love and future wife who was his co-valedictorian in 1892. He went on to attend Dartmouth College for several months, just to return home and work several jobs that did not fulfill his dreams of a picture perfect career. He published
Within months, Frost found a publisher who would publish a book of his poems, A Boy’s Will. After many other publications, he and his family returned home to the US. Upon arrival, his reputation had preceded him and he was well received in the literary world. The English landscape was inspiration for his most famous poem “ A road not taken.” Ralph Waldo Emerson was born on May 25, 1803 in Boston, Massachusetts. He was the son of William and Ruth Emerson, and his Father (like many of his male ancestors) was a clergyman. He attended the Boston Latin School, and followed that with Harvard University( from which he graduated in 1821) and Harvard School of Divinity. He was licensed for ministry in 1826 and ordained to the Unitarian church in 1829. He married Ellen Tucker in 1829, but she died of tuberculosis in 1931. After this event, he was grief stricken which lead to his faith dropping and him resigning from
