Robert Frost was a brilliant poet, who went through great personal hardships in life. Even though he had those hardships, he still went on to write many more great poems. In his poetry he was influenced by the hardships that he went through, along with other poets such as Ralph Waldo Emerson, and Ezra Pound (Killoran, Helen). He was also influenced by the many tragedies that occurred in his life. From his father dying at a young age, to him having suicidal thoughts, to his daughter being in and out of a mental institution, the suicide of his son, and the death of his wife. After his father’s death in 1885, Frost and his family moved to Massachusetts. Frost graduated in 1892 as Co valedictorian of his high school class, his Co valedictorian ended up being his wife, Elinor Miriam White. In 1895 the two ended up marrying, and having six children. In 1912 Frost ended up leaving America and moving to England with his family. In England, Frost learned many new ways to write poetry from the likes of Ezra Pound (Robert Frost). After the start of World War 1, Frost moved back to America. Frost’s colloquial style and technique in North of Boston called “the sound of sense”. Greatly admired by his English readers and not so much by his American readers at first. One of the major influences of Frost was Ezra Pound. Pound himself is also a very famous poet. When Frost left America and went to England in 1912, he was almost defeated in terms that he could not support his growing family with his work as a poet.
