The Princess Bride, a story of love, revenge and adventure. Amongst all the revenge and adventure this story brings it still manages to maintain the sweet romance between farm boy, Wesley (Carl Elwes) and dazzling princess, Buttercup (Robin Wright). Robert Reiner, director of this not so ordinary love tale has done and extraordinary job in capturing some of the truly hilarious personalities of many characters, whilst keeping the original theme of romance.

Despite being separated and the powers of the evil prince they fight for the common cause of love. Death, Torture and oversized rodents are just part of this humorous and challenging love story. Reiner, the director of the Princess Bride has effectively produced humour throughout the entire movie. He has done this starting with the characters. Many of his characters names are ridiculous and larger-than-life (Prince Humperdinck, Buttercup, Fezzik and Inigo Montoya). This was a very effective way to produce humour. The director of this movie has set the plot out in a manner which is both intriguing and eye catching to the audience.
One aspect of the movie that was poorly constructed and could be done in a more appropriate way is the way the movie has been paced. The Princess Bride is a very fast paced movie, where one problem would occur and not long after there would be yet another problem. Overall this didn’t spoil the film, but is something that could be
