Bones of the arm will be represented as Aluminum or wooden sticks. These sticks will be joined together by SERVO MOTORS. For elbow joint for example, the servo motor will be attached to the upper arm, and its gear will be attached to the lower arm. So when the elbow motor moves, the lower arm will move while the upper arm standstill.
2) how many motors i will use and what type and why?
For each joint or rotation needed will be one motor.
I prefer SERVO MOTORS because:
• it has 180 degree of movement only. And you can choose the wanted degree.
• It is controlled by Pulse Width Modulation, which gives you a better controlling than DC motors.
• It’s meant to be used in such project.
Watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=-B-gAZPYGbI read this: it has many pages, check in top-right. http://www.engineersgarage.com/articles/servo-motor 3) what is the title of the project should be?
Wallah ya man, it depends on what you want to do.
It may be
“PC control of Robot arm by using 8051 microcontroller”
“Robot arm control by using 8051 with GUI interface” GUI = Graphical User Interface
“Robot arm control by using 8051 with PC interface”
“2-axis robotic arm control by using 8051 with PC interface”
PC interface is by using Visual Basic.
You also may combine between topics.
4) they ask me of 3 objectives in the projects i mean what this arm can do , what it could be ? in terms of project itself:
1. learn how to build a robot arm
2. learn how to interface a servo motor
3. learn how to interface 8051 with PC
4. learn how to program visual basic and GUI.
In terms of using it:
1. mainly, pick and place objects. Move objects.
2. May be used as elderly people assistant.
3. assistance in hospitals, cleaning and housekeeping
4. it can be many other things.
5) if u have anything can help me in this project plz send me all attached.
