Camp Happy Valley is a successful non-profit organization. It began in 1965 as a summer day camp for children living in the city of London, Ontario. The camp’s objective has been “to maximize the camper’s experience through a multitude of activity in a positive and safe atmosphere.” In the recent year, Camp Happy Valley has seen a decrease in the morale of the staff; last summer, camp received many complaints from staff, campers and parents. Adam Cameron is a first-year student at The University of Western Ontario, and also he is a programmer for Camp Happy Valley. For ensuring the camp’s upcoming summer season would be a success, Cameron must make changes to improve the camp’s morale.…
Morality is the essence of right and wrong and becomes very hard to define because of the different ways people view what is correct and not. It is a common theme in many novels, such as Peace Like a River by Leif Enger, who explores the essence of moral decisions through a young boy whose brother is convicted of murder. Though the moral level of a decision is based on the impact inflicted on surrounding people and the motives best decide the virtue behind an action, no one can be the judge of morality because everyone holds different opinions that can vary three hundred and sixty degrees on the scale of right and wrong.…
I have gone to Camp Sierra Vista for the past eight years of my life. Camp has taught me many things. How to be myself, how to work well with others, how to have fun, and mainly how to be a leader. I was never really one to be a leader of a group at school, but at camp, I was.…
There is absolutely nothing better than spending a week on vacation with your friends. Last summer, I went to the Free Lutheran Youth (FLY) convention. FLY is a large get-together where Lutheran teenagers from around the country meet and worship. Abby Ator, Lance Bengochea, Sierra Machart, Mariah Machart, Emma Pederson, Bryan Pederson and I go to Bethel Lutheran Church; we decided to fundraise and attend the FLY convention. This year was the first time I have participated; the experience literally changed my outlook on life. The week I spent in Estes Park, Colorado, brought me closer to ten people who I never imagined would become my close friends.…
For many Americans, going to a summer sleep-away camp as a child is an experience to be treasured well into adulthood. Present and former campers often speak of the experiences and the friendships that resulted from their time at sleep-away camp as some of the most important and meaningful ones of their lives. Critics, however, often view summer sleep-away camps in a very different way, insisting that they are elitist and that the children who are sent there miss out on valuable bonding time with their parents and the friends who live in their hometowns.…
Something that surprised me was when we did the personality inventory and I was placed into the fire group. I expected to be in the air group because their traits were calm and laid back while the fire groups traits were cut throat and heartless. Looking back I can understand why I was placed in that group as I am clearly a cutthroat type person, sarcasm intended. Something that I learned that will help me with my future career planning is I’m not preparing to be anything that requires being in high places or during night hours for I have recently found out that I am not a fan of either of them. The trip was extremely worthwhile seeing that I learned to work and communicate with other people who I barely even knew. I also thought it was worthwhile because it helped me take a risk and complete the high ropes challenge, which helped me step out of my comfort zone. This trip was relevant to SHSM because it taught us how to be adventurous ad exploratory while being safe. I jogged around the camp o the first day and it helped me to admire the nature. In conclusion, I thought the trip to Cedar Glen was absolutely…

Team camp was a whole other story, we rode a bus to evergreen state college and got settled into the dorms which is what we would be staying in for the 4 days we were there. All we did was play football, eat, and sleep. We woke up bright and early ate breakfast, practiced, ate lunch, practiced again, then scrimmaged other teams. Going up against another team for the first time was exhilarating. Getting to ball up all of my anger and release it by hitting someone as hard as I could is the best feeling in the world.…

Service-oriented computing concept becomes a distinct architectural model that has been considered by the community as one that can fully leverage the open interoperability potential of web services. For instance, if applications reusable logic is exposed as web services, the reuse potential is significantly increased. Since service logic is now possible to be accessed through open communications framework, it becomes available to a wider range of service consumers. Given that web services provide a communications framework based on physically decoupled contracts it allows services communication to be fully standardized independently from its implementation. This allows a potentially high level of service abstraction while rising the possibility to decouple the service from proprietary implementation details.…
